According to Mustang6G, a customer with a deposit on a GT350 received this from his dealer today:

Kinja'd!!!

Base MSRP of under $50k (including destination and GG tax), and a fully-loaded GT350R comes out to $66495. A tempting proposition, for sure. It will be interesting to see if this information holds true.

Don’t forget the dealer markup box!

Which means the 350R will probably be in the 65k starting range

Equipment group 920A is the GT350R, so a base R is $63495 (including destination and gas guzzler tax), so you’re not far off. The only option package available is the 67S electronics package for $3000, which adds back in the infotainment and HVAC that the R trim level normally deletes. This is where my posted number of $66495 for a loaded GT350R comes from.

That’s pretty much a given at this point I think. Although, my local dealer had a GT500 at $67k, which was pretty much MSRP with the equipment it had fitted, so who knows?

As I understand it, the Z/28 has it as well, so it’s not surprising. The Corvette only avoids it because of the skip-shift system and the super-tall 7th gear for highway cruising.

That seems way too low for a starting price in my mind. I could see lowest to $53k up to $67k for the fully de-optioned R. That would undercut the Z/28 significantly and leave room for a GT500 just under $70K. But I’m no business man.

Yeah, the trick for MY15 and early MY16 buyers will be finding a dealer that will sell one at or below MSRP. After that, it will probably settle down (IIRC, this is supposed to be built until at least MY17).

Equipment group 900A is the standard GT350, while 920A is the GT350R. The tech pack for 900A (67T) adds upgraded infotainment, nav, dual-zone climate control, heated and ventilated seats (not Recaros, unfortunately), etc., whereas the track pack (60T) adds Magnaride suspension, engine/trans/diff oil coolers, and aero mods.

920A includes everything from the 60T track pack, but removes the back seat, HVAC, and adds more aggressive aero mods. The 67S electronics package adds back the HVAC and includes the upgraded infotainment from the 67T tech package, but keeps the non-heated/cooled Recaros.

Ah, that makes more sense now. I didn’t realize the base GT350 was just a better looking GT with a new engine. In my mind, the 60T was the base car (but less creature comforts standard)...kind of dispointed because it means the GT350 styling will be slightly watered down for the facelift of the ecoboost cars.

Well, there’s a bit more to the GT->GT350 transition (front track is wider, IIRC, and it has upgraded brakes, wheels, tires, etc.), but yeah, I think most people would consider the “true” base GT350 to include the the track pack. I think the base model mostly comes into play if you want to build a dedicated track toy, since you would probably be wanting to install your own suspension (a proper coilover setup will normally outperform Mangaride on the track, hence why the Z/28 doesn’t have it).

Yep, the Z28 and ZL1 have it.

The “Shelby” at the top is inaccurate, as it’s an in-house Ford Performance product. A future GT500 might be a Shelby product.

While it is indeed an in-house product, the actual car does feature Shelby branding (it’s molded into the front splitter) and Cobra badging, and the ordering guide from Ford also shows “Shelby”. What has been brought up on Mustang6G, however, is that the ordering guide shows the “registered” symbol next to the “Shelby” and “GT350” branding, which is not present on the price guide. It’s very possible that this is not official or finalized, which is why I put “(Unofficial)“ in the post title.

I forgot about the front splitter. I just didn’t recall seeing “Shelby” much, just “Mustang GT350” in headlines and articles. Maybe it is legit then!

I guess the carbon fiber wheels are an option for the GT350R?

CF wheels are standard on the GT350R. However, they are not available at all for the GT350.

I knew they weren’t for the regular GT350, but wasn’t sure if they were standard for the R. Good info.
